Someone said the adds date isn't even until January 29th. Anyone know? Yep! It's up in the first post! It's actually January 28, since the 29th is a Tuesday (and adds dates are always Mondays, unless Monday is a holiday, then it's Tuesday). So HPG is off to an early head start, which is a great sign...only a few big city stations are playing it so far but that's good; if the big stations jump on it 2-3 weeks before adds date, that's a really good sign that they're excited about the song.

Thought so. How awesome!! It's definitely going to be a big hit for him. People have responded to this song for months already...for whatever reason they just really connect with it. People have used it as their wedding songs and the girls just scream when he plays it. lol!!
But, I think this was a very good choice for him. It shows he's got another side, a soft side..and he's not just out looking for a good time. It's slow and simple, and different for him.

Pretty good considering it hasn't officially been added to radio yet!! Oh, and he said a week or two ago that he's filming the video for it early February....wonder how you get the starring role? I think I'd be a great candidate!!

My favorite song on the album! I didn't think it would be a single yet, but I'm glad it's getting green-lighted as one. Can't wait to see how this does.

^Yeah, and with #42 and 43 not doing much (Uncle Kracker & Josh Turner) and Faih Hill and maybe Randy Houser going recurrent this week, Hey Pretty Girl will make the top 40 in its fifth week in chart. Passing Montgomery Gentry or Brett Eldredge isn't out of the question either. Easton Corbin will probably remain ahead though.

Whats Easton's new song called? And, in what week do they start numbering the weeks? If it just officially got added to radio on the 28th, wouldn't it start then? Thanks! Easton's new single is "All Over The Road", the title track to his new album. As for number of weeks, "Hey Pretty Girl" has already been on the Billboard Country Airplay chart for 4 weeks. Mediabase doesn't start tabulating the numbers until a song enters their top 50, which Kip did at the beginning of this week, so Monday should be his 1st week on Mediabase but it'll be his 5th week on Billboard, since a number of stations started playing HPG well before the adds date, causing it to chart in the top 60 a few weeks early. I've run the numbers and I think Kip could gain about 1.5 million on Billboard this week, which is a great number so early on. That'd put him up to about 2.7 million. Since I waited 'til today to post, I've got the advantage over what dajire4 posted a few days ago, since he posted so early in the week when HPG was only just entering the top 50 on Mediabase and we could begin to track its daily progress. I guess I'm cheating, since I have the added knowledge of what's happened on Mediabase over the past couple of days, but oh well! Now, for my forecast...Kip is gonna jump up a lot on Monday's Billboard chart. He's up more than 800k this week so far, since he first popped up on Mediabase on Tuesday. He's over 2.9 million (total) on Mediabase so far but keep in mind that the Billboard numbers are usually only about 70% of the Mediabase numbers. So, adding on to what dajire4 guessed at a couple days ago...Kip was #44 on Monday's Billboard chart, and he'll easily pass #43 and #42, Uncle Kracker and Josh Turner. Easton Corbin was at #41, and he'll be heading for somewhere in the 2.2 - 2.3 million range on Billboard, so Kip will be passing Easton as well. Let's continue...#40 was Montgomery Gentry, with 1.8 million. They'll be lucky to gain anything, so Kip passes them too. So, that's a +4 jump so far. But, there's more! Brett Eldredge was at #39, and he's heading for about 2.3 million. My math tells me that 2.7 million is higher than 2.3 million, so...another spot to gain, for a +5. Love & Theft were at #38, and they're also heading for the 2.2 - 2.3 million range. That's another spot for Kip to gain, making it +6. At #37 was The Farm...they've gained about 300k so far this week, but will lose CT40 countdown spins this weekend, so they'll be stuck around 2.4 million or maybe lower. And, another spot to gain...+7. At #36 was Craig Campbell...he also loses CT40 countdown spins this weekend and will fall back down to around 2.1 million...+8. Finally, at #35, we find Jake Owen, who had 2.8 million and will be jumping up to the 3.5 million range or so. Jake, Darius, Jerrod...all of those guys from Jake at #35 and on up from there will remain out of range. Finally, checking on recurrents, and we find one. Faith Hill's "American Heart" will drop off the chart from the top 30, which makes a +9 for HPG. However, I'm going to drop it back 1, to a +8, as I think Kenny Chesney's new single "Pirate Flag" could debut close to the top 30 with at least 3-4 million (maybe more, if it's getting special hourly airplay) from only 3 days of airplay. Kip should pass 9: -Uncle Kracker -Josh Turner -Easton Corbin -Montgomery Gentry -Brett Eldredge -Love & Theft -The Farm -Craig Campbell -Faith Hill (going recurrent) And Kenny will almost certainly debut ahead, so my forecast calls for a +8 jump for Kip, moving him from 44-36. Things are going great!

Holy smokes. Hes gonna be the next household name people...I'm not kidding!!
He announced a show at The House of Blues in Boston on Thursday. Tix for it went on sale Friday morning and it completely sold out in 20 minutes. Every headlining show so far this year is sold out. He gets a good 500 Twitter followers a day...it's happening!! And I'm scared, haha!!

My prediction was pretty close and would've been spot on if Craig Morgan hadn't pulled off the rare feat of going recurrent and then re-entering the next week. Craig re-entered the chart at #36 which meant Kip went 44-37 instead of 44-36 but oh well, he'll easily pass Morgan this week. I had forecast 2.7 million for Kip, and he checked in with 2.541 million, so that was quite close. How does top 30 in 2 more weeks sound?

Kip should add about 1 million again this week, and jump up a few more spots. It's kinda hard to tell right now, because I'm unsure about the fate of the current top 20 hits by Casey James and Chris Cagle...will one of them go recurrent? Both? Neither? I'm not confident either way. But Randy Houser will leave for sure, and Kip will easily pass Craig Morgan and Jerrod Niemann, and there's a good chance that he'll pass Jake Owen. Also a small chance that he's able to edge ahead of Kelly Clarkson.
So at the very least, Kip should jump up 3 spots but he could gain as many as 4-7 spots as well. Might not have a clear picture until Sunday's update.

I see this behaving more like Beer Money than Somethin Bout A Truck, so definitely top 5 and probably top 3. For now, even if it's going amazingly, I don't see this topping the chart.

Right now, it's off to a great start. It's still essentially brand new to radio listeners, though, so I'm curios to see how well it does in different call-out surveys and the like. It's a little slower of a song and it seems like releasing ballads to radio nowadays is a bit more riskier. However, this is a great story song, a modern day classic, if you ask me. And since you DID ask me where you think it'll peak at, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say...#1. Actually, I'm not on a limb at all. I've felt pretty confident about it all along, long before this song was even announced as a single. I just always felt that it had hit potential (despite being a slower song/ballad) and now that it's been released, it's doing just that--showing its hit potential. It helps that it's on the heels of 2 big hits (both Mediabase #1's, though "Beer Money" stopped at #3 on Billboard) but still, HPG is performing just as good or better than I'd hoped and I think he can get to the top with this. I think 2013 will be a career year for Kip, if 2012 wasn't already. I got the album the day it came out, despite not really caring for SBAT. I was stunned at how good it was and to this day, I think it's my favorite debut album in...oh boy, I don't know how long. I simply can't think of another debut album I like more and to take it further, I can't think of very many albums released recently--whether they were the artist's 3rd or 10th album--that I like more. I know you've met Kip and been to a bunch of concerts myeverythingku (and I'm jealous!) but I knew already the day I bought this album last April that Kip was gonna be a huge star so to be honest, I'm not really at all surprised with the success he's been having. One listen to that album and I just knew he'd be the next superstar in-the-making. It usually takes 2-3 albums before you can be verified as a 'superstar' but Kip's on his way, and as long as his next album is good (and I know it will be), I don't see any reason for radio not to keep jumping on his songs and turning them into hits. He could have quite the career ahead of him.

Maybe not on radio, but like I've said before, y'all should see it live. For whatever reason, it really connects with people. I think slower is a good thing for him right now..it shows a totally different side of him. It's not all about trucks and beer. Up All Night is honestly one of the best albums I have heard...ever. And I'm honestly kind of mad that it didn't get a nomination at the ACMs because yes, I think it's that good of an album. The fact that he got completely snubbed actually puzzles me, but I guess the longer he goes without getting nominations, the better it is for me! Because he will be getting PLENTY in the future..I've said it before too and I will say it again..Kip Moore is going to be the next household name! He is going FAR and I am glad that I've been there form the beginning. I already established myself with him and now I can sit back and just watch it all unfold.

Thursday update time!
Kip's having another great week. He's up 700k on Mediabase since Monday, and he'll be making his debut on Bob Kingsley's CT40 this coming weekend. With the pace he's setting this week, and the countdown spins, Kip should gain around 1.5 million, maybe 1.6 million, on the 3/2 Billboard chart. That'll put him up around 4.9 million in Billboard audience.
With a sizable gain like that, Kip is sure to blow right past several more songs again this week. First off, we'll have 3 songs going recurrent. Blake Shelton should pass Gary Allan in spins, which will send Gary recurrent. Casey James and Chris Cagle have both finally reached the end of the line, after charting for more than 30 weeks apiece. They'll both be dropping off the chart. Now, on to who Kip will pass.
Kip came in at #33 on Monday's 2/23 Billboard chart, so let's look at the songs ahead of him. Kelly Clarkson was #32, only about 400k ahead. She's only up 200k so far this week so Kip will easily pass her, for a 4th spot gained (in addition to the 3 recurrents). Darius Rucker was #31, about 800k ahead of Kip, but Darius has slowed down a bit, and looks to only jump up to around 4.5 million or so. Could be close, but I'll say Kip passes Darius as well, for a 5th spot gained. Then we had Gloriana at #30, with 5.6 million, so that's where the big gap is (between Gloriana & Darius). Kip will slot into that gap and will have to wait another week to start tracking down Gloriana, Jana Kramer, and Rascal Flatts. Yes, that's right...I said Rascal Flatts. Kip is gaining on them rather quickly.
HPG was able to pass Jake Owen last week but we'll still have to keep an eye on that one. Also, Tim McGraw's new single "Highway Don't Care" debuted at #43, so we'll have to be watching that one, as it will be moving up fast. For now, though, it looks like Kip will stay ahead of these guys. The Tim/Taylor duet will eventually go up ahead but it's quite possible that Kip could stay ahead of Jake. And right now, things are quiet with Jason Aldean & the Zac Brown Band...neither has announced a follow-up single yet to their recent #1's.
So, enough rambling by me. We'll have 3 songs dropping off the chart, and Kip will pass Kelly Clarkson and Darius Rucker as well. That makes for a +5 move, so look for Kip to check in at #28 on the 3/2 Billboard chart, which normally would be out on Monday, but because of Presidents Day, we won't get the chart until Tuesday evening.

It'll be a few weeks before Kip can pass Rascal Flatts but I think he can do it. Anyway, today's update was a slower one while Darius Rucker suddenly had a big update, so I'm inclined to think that Kip will have to wait until next week to pass Darius. This mean Darius will probably be #28 on the next chart, and Kip will be #29 instead. Still, things are looking great!
