Cole is off to a great start with this tune. This one was hitting it big online (in digital sales) and that led to a lot of labels talking to Cole, and he eventually chose Warner Bros. Cole has also had a lot of cuts recorded by Luke Bryan, and some by Scotty McCreery and Craig Campbell as well (including Campbell's current single "Outta My Head").
I can see why radio is jumping on this, but I don't think Cole is a particularly strong songwriter; it definitely seems like his sound is the 'in' style right now, but this song is definitely more of the same...the song revolves around cruising around with a pretty girl, but it doesn't have much else to say. It's another song in the 'frat boy' sub-genre of country music.
However, with that said, something about the way he sings this one has made me like it...most of the frat boy music is on my garbage list, but this one is a guilty pleasure.

This song is red hot right now. It's made the top 20 very quickly and it gained 1.2 million in today's update, and more than 900k yesterday. This looks like a surefire #1 hit. He's really benefiting from his friendship with Luke Bryan, and this style of country music is hugely popular right now with consumers. I just hope that Cole's debut album will have some more substance on it.
