I really thought this would be Scotty's break-out hit, but after 24 weeks it's only at #33. I still think this one could keep growing for a while yet, assuming that Mercury sticks with it, but given how it's both contemporary and traditional-sounding, I thought for sure it would be close to the top 20 or even better by now.
I've obviously reduced my expectations, but I hope this one keeps going up. I didn't care for much of his first album, and I found him too similar to Josh Turner and Chris Young. Don't get me wrong--I like those guys--but I kept thinking "why do we need this 18-20 year-old kid, who sounds just like them, but doesn't get as much quality material pitched his way?" But the new stuff sounds light years better than the stuff on his debut album, and with Chris Young going a bit more of a rock route lately, I think there's definitely room for Scotty at radio. He seems like a really good kid and he now has some good material to match his great voice.

This is still hanging in there. I haven't heard the whole album yet, but it's supposedly pretty good. It should be pretty interesting to see how 2014 shapes up for Scotty.

Scotty seems to be doing a little better as of late. It is by far the best single he has released so far in my opinion. I hope it will at least manage a Top 20, if not better peak.
