I'm completely stunned that this one hasn't been a big breakthrough hit. I know Craig is relatively new but if a quiet ballad like "Family Man", his debut single, could get into the top 15, I just can't believe that "Outta My Head" has barely scraped the top 40.
The chart is incredibly tough right now, especially for the newer artists, but still...this song just seems so radio-friendly, and I feel like it's the perfect blend of modern country and traditional country. It's been on the chart for 24 weeks already so it's pretty much doomed. Even if the label sticks with it for several weeks yet, at best it would only sneak into the top 30. I just don't see it catching on anymore...it's been out for too long and sadly it has gotten lost in the shuffle. It's one of my favorite songs right now, so it's a really hard pill to swallow, knowing that this didn't break out big time.

Although it looked doomed for awhile it has somehow beaten the odds Jhomes. I'm not sure how much higher it will climb, but this song has just kept plugging along and inched its way into the Top 20. It might just make the Top 15 yet. It is a fairly decent song and one that has grown on me a lot, although I don't hear it on the radio often.

I was hoping this might hang on long enough to make the Top 10, but today's Mediabase numbers aren't encouraging. Still a Top 15 peak isn't anything to be ashamed of. Charlie Worsham also seems to have reached the end and Toby Keith isn't looking real strong either. The Top 20 could be clearing somewhat over the next few weeks, in addition to the songs leaving the Top 10.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Billboard sends this recurrent on tonight's chart. I like this song a lot but there has to be a point where enough is enough...the label has pushed this song for more than a year and I suppose you can look at it and say that, in the end, it got to a high enough peak. But if I were an artist and it took this long for a single one of my songs to make an impact, I'd be pretty discouraged. Then again, there's a general over-saturation of artists and record labels, and not all of them can get airplay. But they have to try, because radio is still the main way to get music out to the consumers.
I like Craig a lot, though, so here's to hoping his next single is a good one and gets him back into the top 20.
