This is a very smart decision on his part; sure to be another big hit for him. The album's pretty solid, too; I'll buy it whenever I get the chance. There's so many radio-friendly tracks on the album ("Anywhere With You", "Wide Awake", "Heaven", "The Journey of Your Life", "Settin' The World On Fire"). I just might start rooting for this man. ;D

Hmm. This is moving much slower than I thought it would. Hope radio starts to pick it up as the summer goes by.

Hmm. This is moving much slower than I thought it would. Hope radio starts to pick it up as the summer goes by. It was moving slower, but it had a pretty big week and should jump up 3-4 spots on tomorrow's BB chart. The sales are starting to take off as well, no doubt thanks to the stellar video. I expect this to move a little more slowly than his last 2 singles and I think that will cause this one to fall short of #1. He's still not a huge album seller yet and so we shouldn't expect him to run off a big string of #1 hits just yet. So I actually won't be surprised if his next #1 doesn't come until his next album. BUT, with all that said, I do expect this to still be a hit. And it could hit #1 yet, but I don't think it's as likely since this will probably climb a little slower. After all, both "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" and "Alone With You" have become HUGE recurrent staples, considering BBJN is more than a year old and peaked at the end of last summer. It's still the #14 recurrent song, and got more than 8 million AI's last week, while AWY was just over 10 million yet. I think TOTGA will at least make the top 10, but may be hindered a bit by his last 2 smashes. |
