Welcome to our new home! To any of you who were/are members of CCT or found us some other way, we're glad you are here! This forum is a place for all fans of country music, whether you like one artist or dozens of artists. A couple of things: 1) One new thing I added to this forum is an instant-messaging chat room. This can be found at the far right of the menu bar on the top of the main page--it is a link that simply says "chat". If you'd like to check it out and try sending an instant message to other member(s) that may be signed in there, just click the link or open it in a new tab if you prefer. The first time there, you may need to download the latest Java update or click "allow" if you are asked whether you want to allow Java to run or not. 2) A list of forum rules is now posted. They aren't meant to scare anyone off, just to make sure that we establish a respectful community here. 3) In the near future, we may be looking to add a couple of staff members to moderate select parts of the forum. If you're interested, send me a message! 4) If you ever have any questions, concerns, or ideas of any kind, please, feel free to send me a message and I will do my best to help you out or address any issues, etc. 5) Finally, feel free to introduce yourself in this thread! We're glad you're here

Well, it looks like I'll go first. I'm Cody Ashby and just found this website through Pulse. I'm hoping to find some solid country music discussion.

Yippee, a beautiful new site and an empty slate! Thanks a bunch, JHomes. It's so good to have a nice place to go now that we no longer seem to have CCT! I think this new site will be a lot of fun--how could it be anything else--I'm sure the old gang will find their way over here. I hope to see Zazie and Jon Solo back in the saddle again. I love the colors.

Hi, this is Lowezl, commonly known as Lowe. I am so happy to have this site and be with the old gang from CCT. Many thanks to JHomes for helping get us this new site. I heard that CCT finally petered out, and I am a little sad because I had a lot of fun on that site, but it will be nice to have a new site without log in issues and other little computer glitches that we can't figure out. I've been a country music fan long before there was any television, CDs, Ipods, etc--I grew up in KY listening to a staticy old radio that you had to whack every once in awhile when the sound would disappear. I particularly loved The Grand Ole Opry and Suppertime Frolick as well as the Carter Sisters (Moma Maybelle, June and Anita). I still love the old stuff but I enjoy all facets of country music, and I am a longtime fan of Keith Urban, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jenkins, Conway Twitty, and people like Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Sara Evans and so many others (not enough space on the computer for all the people I like to hear sing. I am into song lyrics, write songs myself (have never tried to sell any of mine) but the thing I like best about country music is that it tells a story, gives a message, and is about little pieces of life itself. Although I like a lot of artists of all the different genres, Keith Urban is my favorite entertainer because he is a multi-talented triple threat--a singer, songwriter and musican. I like the way his music moves people and seems to come straight from his heart.

hi
i am linda...and i am very introverted and shy.
i enjoy many country artists but keith urban is my favorite. i liked his music, but i really became a big fan accidently.
my dad passed away. he was (and still is) my hero. he was my rock with a way of getting through life with a sense of humor. a friend gave me a copy of a cassette tape that she copied of golden road. as i was listening to this tape, i heard a song entitled a song for dad....and i fell in love with the music and lyrics of keith urban.
and now you are all stuck with me !

Howdy, I'm Carrie. HUGE Dierks Bentley fan, and also really enjoy Easton Corbin, Jake Owen, Eli Young Band, Wade Bowen, Will Hoge, George Strait, Miranda, Pistol Annies ... I don't like a lot of the format's superstars, though I like Keith and Kenny more than some. Mostly, I want to hear fiddle, banjo, and steel in my country (for the most part). Glad I found my way here from stalking the Urbanalysis thread at CCT!

^Glad you're here, Carrie! We're still sort of getting everything set up here...I have a LOT of threads to create, lol! I got locked out of CCT (it wouldn't let me login), and neither Zazie nor I had control of the site (we didn't create it), so we'd been kinda talking about building our new place for a while now, with all the 'issues' and bugs on CCT. Still gotta work on a lot, including coming up with a cool name, lol!

I'm Zazie. I've been posting about charts for a long time, and I've enjoyed country music for too many years to count. I will help run this forum because I have enough time to dedicate to that, and I really want to see it succeed. It's disappointing that CCT didn't make a go of it, but longevity on the net is not guaranteed, and the founders there were planning ambitiously but it just couldn't happen. This time we're going to start slowly and see what we can build.
I have faith that we'll accomplish good things here, and someone will come up with a good name for us soon, right? I'm working on it. You work on it too, and someone will come up with something good soon.
Any questions, please send me a PM and I will do my best to help out.
Just updating -- I was able to copy and save the rules from CCT before JHomes attacked them with her rule-fightin' anarchist sword. I'm reading them and I will forward them to her today. Rule 1 -- Be Nice To Zazie -- is going to be the most important one. You have to have priorities.

Hi, I was a member of the CCT Board although I didn't contribute much. I don't talk a lot but enjoy reading all the information on what's happening on the country radio charts. I was brought to the genre some time ago through Alan Jackson but really got into it when I discovered Keith Urban. Through him I've discovered so many artists...so much good music. I'm glad to be here and look forward to my continuing education!

Well, I know I've been around for a while... But I thought I would still introduced myself and let y'all know a little bit about me. I'm Jamie and I'm from Iowa, I am currently in college and I just love country music. I am 22, and country music is all I've listened to. Since I grew up in the 90's, I naturally liked a lot of the big stars from then, including Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Lonestar, Diamond Rio, Collin Raye, and others. I still like most of them a lot, especially Kenny, Tim, Alan, and George (the others have pretty much quit making music, lol). And of course from the late 90's into the early 2000's, I became a HUGE fan of Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Sara Evans, Jo Dee Messina, Lee Ann Womack, Montgomery Gentry, Gary Allan, and others who hit the big scene a few years later such as Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Zac Brown Band, Rodney Atkins, Lady Antebellum, Josh Turner, etc. There are too many to list. I like mostly everything from the 90's. I like traditional-sounding stuff, some older stuff that I used to hear at my Grandma's...I like it all, from the more traditional stars of today such as Josh Turner and Alan Jackson to the contemporary stuff from Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood. I would probably say Keith Urban is my favorite--his albums are so complete and his skills are top-notch...I haven't been to a lot of concerts but I went on a whim and finally saw him last October. He was already my favorite country star before then but that sure solidified it. He is an amazing singer, instrumentalist, and entertainer and an all-around great guy. He exemplifies what it is to be 'country' and he doesn't just put out stereotypical music and cookie-cutter formula stuff. I still like most of the stuff from Kenny and Tim, too, and Alan and George will always be favorites. I don't like to limit myself to one artist, because I do feel there are a lot of artists who put out good music. I do have favorites but I follow all the current music too, and so over the last 2-4 years or so, I've really become a fan of a LOT of new artists, including Jake Owen, David Nail, the Eli Young Band, Brett Eldredge, Jerrod Niemann, Chris Young, Thompson Square, Easton Corbin, JT Hodges, James Wesley, Wade Bowen, Edens Edge, Casey James, The Farm, Jana Kramer, Eric Paslay, The Harters, Kip Moore, The Dirt Drifters, Lee Brice, Jon Pardi, and Greg Bates. As you can see, I think I classify as a BIG country music fan, lol ;D I like some stuff from Eric Church, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, and a couple other current hitmakers I probably left out from above, but they're usually a bit more hit or miss with me, especially Rascal Flatts and most of the recent output from Lady Antebellum as well...I've found their music to be lacking in depth, but a few years ago I liked some stuff from them quite a bit (Lady A's "Love Don't Live Here" and "Need You Now", along with Rascal Flatts' "Fast Cars And Freedom", "Mayberry", etc.) So yeah, I probably like the majority of stuff out there, and there are only a few acts that I really can't stand, but I won't name them. Most of the time, it's about the song and whether I like it, so even though I didn't really like Eric Church's "Love Your Love The Most", for example, I LOVE "Springsteen". Again, Keith Urban is probably my favorite because I think he is the one artist who can put out any song and I will like it no matter what, whereas while I usually like most of the stuff from Jason, Kenny, Tim, etc...they can put out some bad stuff too (Crazy Town, Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven, Last Dollar, etc being among my least-favorite tracks from those guys). Ok...can't think of anything else right now, lol. But that is a little background on me and how big of a country fan I am I look forward to discussing country music and the charts here and meeting some nice fellow fans and friends.

Hi folks. I'm Mike. I live in Middle Tennessee. I'm relatively new to all this country chart stuff but somehow got hooked on it about a year ago. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as many of you but I'm learning. Found the site from the link on one of jhomes' posts at Pulse.

Hey all! I am the guy who runs the PMB chart on the Pulse Chart site which is where I found this. I am a 21 year old college senior, majoring in PR who works as a sideline reporter for NBA and as a PR rep for a national race team!

Can't wait to have conversations with you all Eric, sorry to have lost touch with you in the email department, and I'm very happy to see you here. Eventually we will have lots of discussions here, and anybody who wants to begin a discussion of any particular artist, or album, just ask for some help getting started and we'll make it happen. Right now we've got chart analysis threads on Urban, Bentley, and Strait and those tend to get some posts, but whatever you want to do, just let me know. I know I've been crazy busy all summer and I'm looking forward to finding some time to get this site cranked up.

Hello guys. Trufan here, but my name is Joan. I was a regular at CMT before the closed, and CWO before they closed. I've been looking for a good site, as it seems everyone wants to argue. Anyway, I've been a fan of country music for over 30 years and love some of the older stuff as well. I'm in Charleston SC, but visit Nashville frequently and love going to the Ryman and the Grand Ole Opry house by the mall. I'm pretty hung up on an artist having a good singing voice and have no time for those who use autotune or other enhancements. I'm a big NASCAR and Atlanta Braves fan.
Thanks for the add, and I look forward to conversing with all of you.

Hi my name is Kate. Garth Brooks turned me into a Country music fan back in 1991 and I have been a fan ever since. I like most of the songs and artists on the radio. Lately I have been really into the latest albums from- Cole Swindell, Chase Rice, Dirks Bentley, and Sam Hunt. I also really like Miranda Lambert's Platinum Album. I am looking forward to talking Country music with others who love it as much as I do.
