this is bad i hate it. why did brad have to go from a almost masterpiece album to this if the new album sounds like this i will not get it. I disagree completely. Brad really nails it here. I was a sucker for the duets "Old Alabama" and "Remind Me", but I think "Southern Comfort Zone" might be better. I really liked "American Saturday Night" as well, and I've liked several of his recent hits including "Start A Band", "Waitin' On A Woman", "Online", and "When I Get Where I'm Going"...but I think this might be my favorite BP single since "Mud On The Tires". And I think it's one of the best songs he's ever released to radio. This song has a very unique production to it but also sounds like signature Brad. And the lyrics are the best part...it really is a knock on all the truck, beer, and "I'm more country than you" songs that have flooded the airwaves over the past few years. Country songs that brag about country radio's stereotypes are the genre's worst enemy. There are songs on the familiar old topics that offer a fresh take (Kip Moore's "Beer Money" and Dierks Bentley's "Tip It On Back" come to mind), but for every good song like that, there's AT LEAST one generic, lazily-written, paint-by-numbers song about 'country life'...songs such as Jason Aldean's latest "Take A Little Ride", Tim McGraw's "Truck Yeah", Randy Houser's "How Country Feels", Parmalee's "Musta Had A Good Time", and Craig Morgan's "More Trucks Than Cars"...and those are just the ones currently on the chart. I'll admit that the songs by Jason and Randy are at least catchy/radio-friendly, and that counters for the lazy songwriting somewhat...but doesn't make them good songs. Brad talks about so much more than biscuits and gravy, a pretty little 'thang' ridin' around in a truck, drinking beer on the weekend, etc. in this song, and that's what makes it great. It shames many other country songs for pandering to the stereotypes that, nowadays, all too often hold country music back and have fans and critics longing for some of those classic songs of the past...songs that weren't stereotypical, and had great stories in them. So I definitely applaud Brad for co-writing and releasing this.

I'm not bashing the lyrics of the song. It would be good if the melody wasn't so damn bad also with the talking clips mixed in makes it bad. I do like what the song has to say i just don't like the sound of the complete track if ya get what i'm sayin. Hell i hate half if not more of the songs you listed. I just wish the music behind the lyrics was good thats what makes me hate this song.

It sounds awful to me. The rambling and all the noise does not make good radio listening to me. Very bad.
